RE

I have been working up to this post, and here it is: I have an appointment to see an RE on May 20. We are thinking about #2, and it's my turn.

Actually, I have three appointments on May 20. The midwife (who serves as my gyn), and then two different REs, who have been recommended by Sophia, Oneofhismoms, and several folks off the computer. (We had no problem with Co's RE, but the monitoring hours at that office won't work with my teaching schedule, so off I go.) I'm meeting with two because I am terrified that my weight will be an issue, so I'm hoping at least one of these guys will agree to work with me.

I have always believed I would bear a child, but now that I am so close to exploring this goal, I no longer believe it can happen. So many people have tried for so long -- why would it work for me?

Right now, as you can see, I'm more scared than excited. I am frightened by how much I want this. We already have Jo, can I really ask for more?

WOOOOOOOOOO!!!
So excited to read this!

I can not wait to hear all the details you care to share.

As for the weight- do NOT let an RE be an asshole about it. Weight should only be an issue in your fertility if it brings forth PCOS. If you are ovulating and cycling regularly you should totally be fine. Of course we know "being fine" doesn't always yield insta pregnancy- but you have NO reason to think it wouldn't!

I am so hopeful & clapping my hands thrilled that this next chapter is starting for you guys!

good luck with the process! i'm wishing you all the best.
i ditto cali's comments. i also saw and liked OHM's RE. knocking up lesbians is a big part of his job. but i know that a dear friend of mine didn't like him because of how he dealt with weight issues. i hope you have a better experience.

Wow, big step!

I know you've been inundated with stories of ttc struggles, but there are plenty of first time lucky stories too.

I'm hoping you fit the second category. Either way, you'll have tons of support.

Will be cheering for you!

Good luck on your appointments. I really hope it all happens quickly for you. Now I am not a skinny minny by any means and I was worried about my weight... it was really not a problem for me with my RE and I would be careful/pissed/annoyed if anyone made it a big deal for you. I do have PCOS so that was treated, but not because of my weight but so I would ovulate. I am happy to hear about this next step for you guys. xoxo L

Doing the babysign for more more more!

Oh good luck, my dear. I do hope it is easy and painless.

Perhaps you should ask Eva about her new doc, since she likes them better than my old one.

I've been neglected my feeds abominably, which is why I'm a week late commenting--but fingers crossed here!
