A message for Charlotte:
I don't know how else to tell you this so I'm putting it on my blog: I have been commenting on your blog! The problem is, I get a message that says the comment will be posted once the blog owner approves it, and then they never appear. I was feeling a little bit like a rejected 6th grader and hoping my replies hadn't somehow offended. Maybe it's a technology problem and we're both cool people?

As for your very interesting question about why people blog, I am going to weigh in here on my own blog: I write to participate in a community. In my life, I do a great deal of writing in order to figure out my own thoughts, etc. etc.; however, I have many personal notebooks for that purpose. For me, blogging is a way to be a part of this amazing, inspiring community of women who are all on the same journey -- or to have it Co's way, engaging in the same process -- as I/we are. I love reading other people's blogs and comments, and sure, I get a thrill out of receiving my own comments and weighing in on other people's blogs.

My two cents.

I commented on Charlotte's blog, too! And have yet to see my comment appear. So, Charlotte, I hope you find the missing comments!

when I started blogging I didn't know about this wonderful community -- I started blogging as a way to process things and to create some kind of record of my journey as a non-bio mom. but then i started finding these other blogs and discovered this wonderful, rich community that I have grown to cherish. and that's why I KEEP blogging.

i started blogging after finding many cool pregnancy blogs. we were just about to start TTC and this was a great way for me to keep informed and an avenue to vent when I need to-- as many of the people in my day to day life have no idea we're TTC. i've been very spoty at keeping written journals. i was better when I was younger, but this seems to really work for me. i love reading other blogs and i love posting and reading comments others leave on my blog. sometimes i wonder why i did not start sooner!

P.S.

I just tried to post on Charlotte's blog and I get the message that "the post will be visible when it is approved by the owner." so she must have that option selected. maybe she doesn't know it?

I hope your reading Charlotte!!!

I too have posted on Charlotte blog, but got the same message.

I really love blogging, at first, I didn't really know what to write, I started it more for myself, like an online journal, and now, I am amazed at all the great people who comment, and I read their amazing blogs and take parts in their journeys. I think it is great that there are so many Lesbian TTC blogs out there, kinda like joining in one big club! I love the feedback and love the contact to other people who are are the same journey. I've become a real blog junkie now!!

I started blogging almost a year before thinking about babies....mostly to share some stories, thoughts, politics, etc. Like Trista, I didn't know this community existed until we decided to start planning our family. Cheese and Whine has become more of a ttc blog - with other stuff thrown in occasionally.

Welcome to the blogosphere - I look forward to reading more about your journey!

Blogging and sharing others' blogs has definitely been an experience for me. i don't know how we would have made it through our initial 10 month "trial" of TTC without all the understanding and support we received from such an unlikely source. What's even better is that people are sticking around, even when we aren't doing anything all that interesting, which makes me feel like i have made some actual friends. When we get started again, i'll have the comfort of so many folks cheering us on and providing advice--that, to me, is priceless. :)
