Legal Aid

We are looking for a lawyer to help us with: creating wills, possible name changes (post on that drama forthcoming), my adoption of Flipper. Ideally, the same person would handle all of it. Anyone who lives near us (in the Apple) have any recommendations?

Co found this site through a G00gle search but that's our only lead.

You don't need a lawyer for a name change. It's expensive enough in this state without one! We can point you to forms online and help you figure out what you're supposed to do with them, if you want. Or since you're going to be working with a lawyer anyway, maybe it's not that much more expensive to add in this service.

i have a lawyer for you. i'm waiting for my partner to get home so i can get her phone number and email it to you. we live in nassau county and she used to work in mineola, but now she has her office in the city. we love her. she's a lesbian and is a super lawyer. i'll email you tonight or tomorrow morning. we used her for both of our kids second parent adoptions and will use her again for the new baby's.

We have a friend who's a lawyer who lives a Brooklyn. We'll email her and see if she can take on a client or if she can refer someone.

I'll give you the number of our lawyer, who is very sweet but extremely sloooooow. I don't think we'll use her for the second adoption (assuming we get to have another one) because of the slow factor. We're going to try a different one for the wills. She has a reputation for speed and an office in your adjoining neighborhood.

Gah! I haven't forgotten about you. We are still trying to find our paper work so we can get that number.
