Help, please.
We want to set up a "meet & greet" with one or two of the local doula organizations, but how do you pick who to meet from a list of bios online??
Thanks in advance, oh wise IVP.

I'm a doula - I would recommend just picking someone who you feel comfortable with. I'm excited you guys are looking into one -- we're a great resource of information and support. Good luck with the search! If you have any questions, let me know :)
i recently attended a community sponsored meet the doula day. i found that just from talking for a few minutes i either connected or did not with the doulas. we are now in the process of setting up a follow up meeting with the one doula i felt really connected to. if A. feels the same way, we're going with her (coincidently, we've also had great references for her through A's co-workers) other wise we'll ask others for an interview.
from what i know most doulas will h meet with you for free for that first meeting to see if it's a good match.
How very cool! I may have to go without a doula this time, which is pissing me off to no end. I thnk a doula is a PRICELESS help! Just, in the end, go with you you CLICK with.
I say just start calling doulas and set up meeting with the you "like" on the phone. Then go with whoever you feel is right. I think you will know when you meet the right one.
I e-mailed a bunch of doulas with our story and what we were looking for, and waited for their replies. I decided who to meet by their replies.
